The Concept of Becoming Deeply Rooted
Becoming deeply rooted is not just about personal growth but about grounding ourselves in who we truly are. It’s about being so connected to our essence that the expectations and pressures from the world no longer sway us. As women who often pour so much into our families, it’s essential that we begin the journey of rediscovering who we are, beyond our cherished roles. Today, let’s explore what it truly means to become deeply rooted and how this concept can help us thrive in every area of our lives.
The Birth of Becoming Deeply Rooted
This journey of becoming deeply rooted began for me in the summer of 2023 after we moved to Okinawa, Japan. For 16+ years, I had embraced my roles as wife and mom with love and dedication, but over time, I began to ask myself, “What about me?” I realized that I had dreams and desires that extended beyond my roles at home, and I wanted to pursue the work that feeds my soul.
At first, I felt guilty for even thinking about wanting more. The societal pressure to remain solely focused on my family weighed heavily on me. But deep down, I knew there was more to life than this. I knew I couldn’t continue to neglect my own growth and desires. So, I began focusing on becoming deeply rooted in my truth. This concept arose from a deep need to honor who I am at my core while continuing to care for my family.
What Does It Mean to Become Deeply Rooted?
Becoming deeply rooted means being firmly grounded in who you are, beyond your roles, expectations, or the opinions of others. It’s about embracing every aspect of yourself, including the parts that society may not always understand or celebrate. When you are deeply rooted, the winds and pressures of life can’t bend or break you. You stand firm, knowing exactly who you are and where you’re headed.
This deep connection to your true self transforms every area of your life—your relationships, your confidence, and your inner peace. When you are deeply rooted, you make decisions based on your truth rather than fear or societal expectations. You begin to shed the layers of what no longer serves you, allowing yourself to blossom into the woman you were always meant to be.
How Do We Become Deeply Rooted?
The process of becoming deeply rooted requires digging deep and embracing all parts of ourselves—our strengths, our weaknesses, our desires, and even our fears. It’s about evolving on a soul level. I’ve been on this journey of self-discovery since 2011, and I’ve come to realize that the journey never ends. Each season of life brings new challenges, new growth, and new opportunities for transformation.
To truly become deeply rooted, we must evolve into the woman that God/Spirit has created us to be. This means knowing yourself on a deep level, unapologetically standing in your truth, and making decisions that align with your soul. As we walk this path, we must honor the highs, the lows, the rebirths that each season brings. It’s in embracing this full spectrum of experiences that we find our true selves.
